Personal History		John was born on Earth in a small farming community in May of 2326. He has 2 brothers and one sister. His father, Thomas is a civilian scientist and his mother, Olivia works as an Anchor for GNN. John was introduced to Starfleet service by his Aunt Susan, his father's sister when he was just ten years old in 2336. In 2344 against his parent's wishes he took the Starfleet Entrance exam and that fall entered Starfleet Academy. He graduated fifth in his class in 2348 and received orders to report to USS Lexington NCC-14427 as helmsman under Captain Trenton Hale. After a year as an ensign, Gibson was promoted to lieutenant junior grade after using a shuttle during a rather daring extraction on Cardassian Soil. For his exceptional ability in rescuing trapped away team members he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and awarded the Starfleet Achievement Medal. After 3 years on the Lexington, he accepted a promotion to full lieutenant and assignment as helmsman on USS Lakota NCC-42768 under command of Captain Cynthia McKinley. He served four years on the Lakota eventually rising in rank to lieutenant commander. Shortly after his promotion he returned to the Excelsior Class starship Lexington to serve as second officer. During his service on Lexington, he was awarded the Starfleet Commendation Medal for his actions in safely securing the release of Federation hostages from the Tzenkethi. After 3 years on Lexington, John accepted a promotion to Commander and assumed duties and responsibilities as executive officer aboard the Nebula Class Starship USS Endeavour NCC-71805 under the Command of Captain Matthew Preston. He spent six years on Endeavour, the longest tour of his career. In 2364 John was offered and he accepted command of the new Nebula-Class starship USS Lexington NCC-61832. Gibson spent seven years in command of the Lexington eventually making 17 first contacts of which five of them have become Federation members or protectorates. In 2371 the Lexington arrived at Olympus Station for shore leave. John was offered reassignment as commanding officer of the Galaxy-Class starship Enterprise. He currently serves as captain of the USS Enterprise.
